Cosham & Wymering grass verge problem

Cosham Councillors have been contacted by residents concerned about the state of grass verges across the area.

Cllr Hannah Hockaday has been out to survey the areas that residents have raised concerns over.

Cllr Hockaday has said, "The winter has brought more problems of once green verges being churned up by cars needing to park. I am making the case that where possible we will look to find funding to harden the road verges so there is no loss of parking spaces."

Cllr Matthew Atkins said, "We need to see more investment from the city council into the north of the city. When the Conservative ran the city from 2014-2018 they addressed this long running issue and invested heavily back into the north of the city. But when the LibDems were voted back into power by the Portsmouth Labour councillor group, they resumed their heavy focus of funding back into Southsea and their electoral strongholds."

"That's not good enough. We need more Conservatives to take control of the city council so that we can address this funding problem and look to improve our street scenes, verges and much more."
