Ben Swann supports local residents in Copnor

Statement from Ben Swann, Copnor.

Recently people have written to myself and my Copnor ward colleagues with concerns about the proposed House of Multiple Occupation (HMO) at number 16 Stubbington Avenue. Up until now it has been a family home.

A planning application has been submitted to Portsmouth City Council’s ‘Planning department’ and outlines a plan to convert the four bedroom home into a seven bedroom HMO.

Residents have raised concerns around parking and congestion and pressures that such an application could add to local street parking in Stubbington Avenue and the surrounding roads

You can view the application in full by visiting the planning portal (Link below). http://publicaccess.portsmouth.gov.uk/online-applications/

Use the search function and use the reference: 17/01960/FUL

You can register an objection here, or leave comment for the planning department to take into consideration.

While not all HMO applications are bad ones, in this instance, I believe this HMO application will have a detrimental impact on Stubbington Avenue.

Sincerely,

Ben Swann.
