Conservative Councillors and MP's congratulated the team behind the renovation of South Parade Pier.
Councillor Robert New said, "It's fantastic to see what the new owners have achieved in a short space of time since taking on the pier. South Parade Pier is a real highlight on our seafront. I was pleased to see the fantastic turnout over the weekend for the re-opening of the pier. It was great to see so many families coming down to see the pier.
I also love that it's dog friendly too and it was also wonderful to see so many hounds on the pier too. Despite being from different political parties, it was great to see councillors from all parties supporting the opening of the pier too, proving that there was a shared desire to see the Pier return to its former glory.

Penny Mordaunt MP welcomed the opening of the pier too and has been a longtime advocate of the restoration of cultural assets across the city. Penny said, "It's wonderful to see South Parade Pier coming back to life. I wish the team behind the pier's rennovation a successful future and I look forward to seeing the continuing improvements come to life."
