Conservative Councillors launch Domestic Abuse surgeries

Conservative Councillors have launched a series of Domestic Abuse surgeries across Portsmouth North.

A series of them will be held in Copnor, Cosham, Hilsea and Baffins.

Cosham Councillor Hannah Hockaday said, "It is our aim to provide a drop in surgery that people can come to confidentially without any prior appointment to seek help and to speak to someone. We know that many violent crimes have Domestic Abuse of some form at its core and there are many people suffering because they perhaps don't know where to turn to for help, or what help is available.

This is a chance for people to be sign posted to the professional help available both at the City Council and also across the city.

Along with Cllr. Robert New, Cllr. Scott Harris, Cllr. Gemma New and Cllr. Lee Mason, I'm 100% committed to doing more to raise awareness of help available for domestic abuse victims."
