Conservatives see the America' s Cup World Series Portsmouth open to huge cheer

Portsmouth City Council leader Donna Jones has worked on the Americas Cup World Series along with BAR and Team Origin since the Conservatives took administration in 2014.

Cllr. Robert New said,

"The event means the eyes of the world is on Portsmouth. The local economy will be boosted by visitors to the America's Cup event and a result, many local traders will profit from the event.

Additionally, the international coverage of the races and cultural events will mean that people who hadn't considered Portsmouth as a tourist destination before, or didn't know of our rich cultural heritage will be enticed to visit our beautiful and historical city."
